CNC Programmer / Machinist

Job description
Purpose of the Role:
You will be part of a small team of highly skilled, experienced programmer-machinists working at pace to deliver components to the wind tunnel and to our race cars. You will be responsible for programming, setting, running, and inspecting parts on multi-axis CNC machines. You will use your skills and experience to produce complex parts with diligence, playing your part in making our racing cars go faster. Principal Accountabilities:
- Program and manufacture components to supplied drawings, encompassing the programming, setting, and operating of multi-axis CNC machining centres
- Responsible for programming, setting, and operating multiple machines during our peak build season
- Maintain program and tooling records for all components produced
- Supporting management and Production Engineers to maximise the efficient running of the machine tools
- Responsible for diligent inspection of parts to ensure the highest quality
- Maintain a shift handover record with other shift-based employees in the machine shop
- To be aware of health and safety legislation and contribute positively to safety standards on the shop floor
Job requirements
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- Previous experience in manufacturing precision components preferably in a motorsport environment or similar
- Experienced craftsperson with a proven track record
- Experience in Open Mind CAM software
- Experience using Mazak/Mikron 3 axis and/or 5 axis milling machines applicable to your area
- Experience in Programming and use of Mazatrol or Heidenhain 530 control systems as applicable to your area
- Experience of ISO or other conversational CNC programming
